Pay Rate

$12 per hour

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Previous experience with agriculture, gardening, plants, or a job training program preferred
  • Ability to learn and consistently follow safe work practices and to demonstrate proper hygiene required for food safety
  • Ability to work a Monday-Friday work week with some Saturdays be on time, and communicate with supervisor about work expectations
  • Work well unsupervised and in groups for work activities where quality work in a timely manner is expected
  • Currently pursuing high school, college or another post-secondary endeavor
  • Attend regular check-in sessions with support coach or UtmostU Alumni Coordinator
Functions & Responsibilities
  • Perform basic farm and garden tasks: weeding, watering, planting, harvesting, moving soil
  • Safely use and care for all tools
  • Assist with special projects to promote the mission of the GCYC
  • Work collaboratively in a team setting
  • Serve as a role model for all youth and community
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills with customers and visitors
  • Abide by the mission, employee handbook, and all other GCYC policies and procedures
Physical Work Requirements
  • Physical demands require full body movement, physical strength, and stamina sufficient to regularly use farm tools and equipment while walking, standing, riding, stooping/and or lifting
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Ability to withstand allergens like dust, pollen, and bees
