Position Summary

Reporting to Grants Manager, the Fiscal Analyst directly manages, monitors and reports on grant funding, budgeting and spending funds while maintaining statutory compliance with grant and program requirements. Provides fiscal support to programmatic divisions and external funding partners. This position is grant funded and may be subject to state and/or federal funding appropriations.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Administration or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with finance or similar industries
  • Ability to use or learn with accuracy new programs such as Financial Edge accounting, Papersave,
  • Intermediate skill in Microsoft programs, i.e. SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Communication skills both verbal and in written
Functions & Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement internal and external systems and procedures to prioritize and monitor fiscal operations, accountability and compliance with grant contractual terms, conditions and obligations.
  • Analyze monthly programmatic and financial information and issue a summary with recommendations on how to meet grant requirements, metrics, and budget spend obligations.
  • Provide internal and external fiscal monitoring and reporting for assigned divisions and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate in the development of grant budgets, establishment of compliance standards to monitor grant spending, and compliance monitoring program metric satisfaction and reporting.
  • Act as the first line of fiscal correspondence between the organization and external agencies in matters regarding federal, state and local grant funding.
  • Create monthly, quarterly, and annual fiscal reports and funding vouchers submitted to funding agencies.
  • Provides support on financial planning and budgeting including projected revenue, salary allocations, operating costs, capital and extraordinary expenditures.
  • Prepares budgets, amendments, expense reports, grant reapplications and proposals.
  • Performs other job-related duties as requested.
Experience & Education
  • Proficiency with computer applications, electronic communications, and tools
  • Knowledge of federal and state of Illinois government funding and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepting Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Operational knowledge of General Ledger Accounting Software.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, address shifting priorities, exercise independent judgment, and accomplish assignments in a timely manner with superior attention to details.
  • Ability to process and protect confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Must have excellent command of English language and grammar, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to understand, analyze and interpret financial information in varying formats and complete required reports.
Physical Work Requirements
  • Required to sit at a desk and focus on a computer screen for the majority of the day.
  • Frequently required to talk and listen to other individuals.
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 5 lbs. in weight.
