Position Summary

The Membership Specialist is responsible for maintaining lobby and reception desk operations; serves as the lead for data entry for program registration; and serve as an assistant to the Youth Membership & Outcomes Manager in all membership based administrative tasks.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • 1-2 years of college; college degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in office work/administrative assistance or lobby reception
Functions & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for input of approved youth program registration requests.
  • Responsible for program roster generation for instructors.
  • Executes the GCYC front desk operations under the direction of the Youth Membership and Outcomes Manager; enforces the center rules, policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the membership process for all new and returning GCYC members. This includes acceptance of membership applications (accounting and deposit of all membership funds).
  • Works on a team to deliver daily, weekly and monthly attendance data per program as well as attendance for the entire agency.
  • Notifies youth and families of key activities & programming through phone, written correspondence, electronic communications, brochures, and notices.
  • Supports the mission of GCYC.
  • Works collaboratively in a team setting serving the needs of youth.
  • Is committed to the safety and development of all GCYC members.
  • Takes on other duties as needed.
  • Serves as a role model for youth and community.
  • Abides by the employee handbook and established GCYC policies and procedures.
  • Completes Special projects as assigned by the Membership Coordinator or Center Director.
Environment & Working Conditions
  • Fast paced, high energy environment; 100% of time spent at reception desk.
  • Must be available to work late afternoons and evenings.
  • Ability to do light lifting.
