Farmers Market

The Gary Comer Youth Center offers an array of seasonally picked produce, herbs, and flowers grown and harvested by our youth. The best way to access our products is through our Farmers Market.

Visit us throughout the growing season

Our unique youth-led Farmers Market is open during the growing season (June 27 through October 28) on Tuesdays and Fridays from 3-6 PM. The market will be held at the Youth Education Garden located on the west side of S. South Chicago, across the street from the Youth Center. 

As the growing season progresses, we will be offering the following crops:

  • Cooking Greens
  • Beets
  • Carrots
  • Beans
  • Tomatoes
  • Garlic
  • Peppers
  • Turnips
  • Onions
  • Potatoes
  • Summer Squash
  • Cucumbers
  • Herbs

Youth Raised & Harvested

In addition to farm and garden workshops and tours, we'll also be featuring a number of youth-crafted products like Comer Crops Raw Honey raised and harvested by certificate-earning beekeepers, our beloved honey is light with an essence of neighboring fruits and native plants.
